Well, the latest kernel update seems to fix that issue.I have tested
both suspend/resume and hibernation and everything is working as
expected. So if nobody has problems too, you can close this bug report.
And thanks for the fast response providing an update , it was an
annoying one and it is good

I have the same problem. I think the problem started to appear after
upgrading to version 2.6.24-15.27 of linux-image-2.6.24-15-generic.So I
think it is a kernel bug.

I must have mistaken something.
The previous version of the intel driver 2:2.2.1-1ubuntu10 does not work
with the actual kernel image 2.6.24-15-generic too.
so the above line:
intel driver 2:2.2.1-1ubuntu10 & kernel version 2.6.24-15-generic => has the
the same issues/failures regarding resume/h
