Twinkle has been removed from the archives since it is unmaintained and
depends on Qt3. As such, no further improvements or bugfixes will be
made to this software.

I too have noticed this. I've also had problems talking via Twinkle and
trying to use a sound-server. I *much* prefer PulseAudio, (especially
for the ability to switch streams to another output; frickin'
awesome/helpful) but Twinkle seems to want direct access to the
hardware. I'm not sure where
