Regarding the new duplicate bug report, I would like to mention that in
my case the problem occurred when I was already running 8.04 Beta out of
a fresh, clean, CD-ROM install and not from an upgrade from 7.10.
Haexn: as the upgrade left me without a network connection, it would be
hard to update

Same problem. I couldn't install the new kernel so I did a dist-upgrade
... stupid! Now I don't have drivers for my nvida card, oh well.
By the way GreatBunzinni I don't think you need to reinstall ubuntu,
just wait for the restricted modules update.
