Thank you for the additional details.
Given that this also happens with "print to PDF", the main suspect is a
misfunctional portal. Can you please add the output of these commands?
dpkg -l|grep -- -portal
systemctl status --user xdg-desktop-portal*

No problem, not late. Thank you for the confirmation.
The ARM builds went through today and I released them to the stable
channel.

I checked the update and can confirm that the issues are fixed, at least

The fix is released for x64. ARM builders are getting stuck (LP:2106593)

The problem seems to be
https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+/8396c0ba90c664fdc6723173b301b94820f71a2f%5E!

I'm running exactly same Ubuntu and chromium versions as mentioned in the bug
description.
I encounter the same bug BUT downloading files also fails when the "Save as
..." dialog is NOT enabeld.
And I can confirm the same error in Brave Browser 135.1.77.95.
# chromium --version
Chromium 135.0.70
Yes, the dialogue window asking where to save the file is appearing. But
nothing at all happens after that.
No error message, no file downloaded, not even en entry in the download section.
In the meantime, another (maybe related bug) revealed. When I triggered
the print page with "save to pdf",
So does the dialogue window at all appear to ask where to save the file?
Does Chromium interface (or anything at all) say it failed, or does it
fail silently?
Please give the information requested in
