The issue is being dealt with in Bug #59867 (This bug covers several laptops)

Note: This bug is due to be marked as a duplicate of Bug #5986
dmesg may provide all the clues. thinkpad-acpi patches from sf.net and
possibly needing lapic added to kernel if acpi is disabled by system
bios.
