Would it be too bad if this behaviour were configurable via about:config?
I know this was changed to prevent certain security exploits on Firefox - so
let's say the default behaviour would be as it is now. However, if the users
know what they're doing and want to change it to the way it was on Fx

same here with firefox 3.0~b5+nobinonly-0ubuntu3 on hardy under kde 3.
looked around in about:config, but couldn't find a way to change that
behaviour.
