I did normal shutdowns and restarts (behaved the same). Sorry, I can't
attach the files, since I no longer have that installation and I don't
have time for a new one these days.

when you do a normal shutdown and boot back into ubuntu?
Also, could you please attach '/var/log/dmesg' and '/var/log/kern.log'
