I can reproduce this 100%. Using Intrepid beta desktop amd64 livecd.
Double-click Install icon in desktop. In the second screen (select
region), click [x] in the top right corner. Confirm quit when prompted.
Crash window appeared about five seconds later.
Note: quiting by click on [Quit] icon
Restarted with same laptop / CD, and couldn't reproduce the problem.

Similar here - I got to the Manual Partition screen of the installer,
and then clicked 'Quit', and ubiquity crashed. I'm using a 64-bit Alpha
6 Intrepid LiveCD on a Dell M1330.
When I tried to reproduce (without restarting), there was no crash.
Haven't tried yet to see if I can reproduce after res
Same problem hereIm using the i386 live cd of intrepid, except that
I opened the installer to see what the interface looked like then
clicked cancel at the region section and then it crashed.

Are you still able to reproduce this? I cannot.
When you say "closing at the partitioner stage" does that mean you
clicked cancel at the first partitioner screen, then quit, and it
crashed?
