it also causes the qt-creator help system to crash. it would be great to
get a backport, since it seems to be trivial to cherry-pick the fix

FWIW, manually downloading and dpkg -i'ing the egl-wayland 1.1.16 binary
package from the 25.04 repo allowed me to start qmapshack. (I suspect
that's risky and I'm prepared to revert to the 24.10 package if any
issues arise.)
