Hi Paolo,
Thank you for the follow up. I found a solution, the problem was a bios
setting. When I changed the setting from "efi and all legacy" to "efi
only" the problem disappeared.
This new HP laptop has a much more complicated bios with about three
times the number of settings compared to my
