Can you describe what you mean by lag? Might it be the same issue as bug
2063038? That one is also fixed by sleeping and resuming the machine.

Sorry for the delay.
There wasn't anything named extensions in there, but I still did it. The
bug has never reappeared after a log in, only after a restart.
Everything is still the same.

cd ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/
rm -rf extensions
and then log in again.

When idle, gnome-shell sits at around 1-10% (sometimes up to 20%). When
clicking and dragging on the desktop, it goes to 98%.
After doing the sleep and wake thing, at idle it sits at 0.5-2% and when
dragging on the desktop it goes to about 95%. Also it occasionally stutters
every 1-2 seconds.

Top'. Then run the command 'top'. Now please reproduce the lag problem.
While it is happening, do you see anything using high CPU in the
Terminal window?
