Correct, in Intrepid a bunch of Broadcom chipsets are now supported out
of the box following a commercial agreement between Canonical and
Broadcom.
But for Hardy NDISwrapper + Windows drivers as I described initially is
the only way this can work.
Now closing this as fix released.

The Broadcom driver for 4318 works flawlessly on the BCM4328. I
installed it via restricted drivers manager on Hardy and built the LKM
on Intrepid. Better signal strength, connects fasters on start
up/suspend.

The native Broadcom modules in Linux do not support bcm4328 yet:

Best to stick with ndiswrapper for now (or buy a supported wireless
card...) The following driver is reported to work with ndiswrapper on
Dell machines: http://ftp.u
I resolve the problem with ndiswrapper and the following driver:

Yo
Matt, the drivers I linked to are for an HP system. Generally speaking
you should try and use drivers for your system if /when using
NDISwrapper.

I also have the BCM4328 (Rev 03) chipset. It is not detected by the
default Hardy 8.04 install, as advertised.
Likewise I have had some success with the ndiswrapper. I have a Dell
Inspiron 1721, and am using an XP driver that I found on their website.
I don't have a lot of experience with ndisw
Thank you Fabián,
I've been trying to make my new Acer Ferrari 1100 internal wifi card
(BCM4328 rev 01) work with Ubuntu 8.04 for 2 days without success.
I tried Acer's native driver, ndiswrapper, installed Ubuntu x86 and
Ubuntu AMD64 final releases, but I simply couldn't connect.
Your hint work
NDISWrapper and Windows XP drivers for bcm4328 work just fine for me.
I am running Hardy beta with latest updates, I have been using wireless wince
alpha 4 without problems with an HP Pavilion tx1220ca which reports this from
