Apart from the fact that both displays in my setup have the same
resolution and frequency, they seem to have different dpi values, here's
the output from my system report (linux mint)

I have this problem too and it happened in a very similar sequence of
events. (LM22/Cinnamon) I did find a correlation that whenever my screen
went to sleep, was turned off, or was locked. plank would move up as
