HDMI connection and bandwidth detection problems are intermittent. A
higher quality cable (or lower bandwidth requirements like lower
resolution or refresh rate) makes them less likely/frequent.

I do not think it could be related to HDMI cable. How then switching to TTY and
to desktop resolves the issue?
