Can confirm this bug upnp does not seem to be working as the port stay
closed. Have been using transmission for a while on my xubuntu 7.04 with
no problems.

No, the port is not forwarded automatically, so it is displayed as being
closed. When I manually forward the port, it is displayed as being open.
Transmission has always forwarded ports properly automatically for me in
the past

Actually this is a two part bug report.
transmission-trac #710 addresses the "invalid cast from `GtkLabel' to
`TrCore'" g_warning.
The other issue is the port being displayed as closed, which almost all
of the time is due to a configuration error. If using port forwarding,
please make sure that
