Hi, I'v got the same trouble. Since I install the Hardy beta, I cant
shutdown my ubuntu. Today I've upgrade to the rc and the problem
continue.

I am running Hardy beta too. I got the same error messages as shown in the
screenshot by mikedev. The messages starts showing when I leave the graphical
environment. I do not need to drop to text mode manually to see the error

I did a ctrl-alt-F1, logged in, then "sudo shutdown -h now" and there
