For now, I say let's keep it in.
Maybe downgrade to universe until more confidence that mdadm (or another
tool) covers the fakeraid scenarios users might be using.

Hello,
I just wanted to put in here that a user tried using mdadm to no success
where dmraid worked[0]. As this is a package that you may need in order
to boot (if fakeraid is supporting your boot drive), I think it's unwise
to simply remove completely. It would feel bad not seeing your system
boo
