I wasn't very clear, I should have also added that quake was very much
playable (our team got our but kicked, though I think i'd be hard
pressed to tell my friends it was transmission's fault).

Just played a round of Quake with two ubuntu hardy beta torrents running
with upload caped. I was only uploading however.
this was with Transmission 1.06 (5136), on hardy beta x86_64, installed
from live cd
