I have not tested that version in a long time, especially because
1.0.1 (i think) provided some important fixes for 1.0.0. The version
is obsolete and I suggest that 2.0.2 is used or if you want to use the
1-series then use 1.2.1.
If for some special reason you need 1.0.0 it is most likely a bug i
For Ubuntu it is preferred to provide a fix for the version offered in
the repositories.
Do you have insight on why 1.0.0 wouldn't work on Gutsy? Maybe a
library conflict?

source." did you mean 1.0.0 worked on these distributions?
Are you using the latest version, 2.0.2 ?
