I also want to add that I did not upgrade to Hardy. This was happening
on a fresh install of the daily build from 3/18/08. Also running AMD64.

Yes it seems that removing scim-bridge-agent, scim-bridge-agent-qt and
scim-bridge-agent-qt4 solved the problem. Apps are starting fast again
and the error messages in the comment above are not shown again.
A friend of mine had the same problem and on his system removing those
packages solved the
