No, I don't think it's created by default. You might want to try
creating the key and setting it to "opengl".

In HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine I don't have any folder named Direct3D.
Here are the folders I do have: Crypto, Debug, DirectSound,
DllOverrides, Drivers, Fonts, MSHTML, Temporary System Parameters and
WineDbg

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D\DirectDrawRenderer key set? It
should either be unset or have the string value "opengl". If it has a
value of "gdi", this won't work.
