Perhaps it gets into the repositories soon.
But perhaps it is getting not there because the server guys managed it
to compile native managesieve support into the Ubuntu packages for
dovecot! :)
So thanks both to you and the ubuntu server guys!

Could this be possible for Ubuntu 8.04 already?
That would really help our rootserver policy - where I don't should install
from source, if there would be a package available..
All dependencies needed would be met right now in ubuntu, I think!
