I agree it's not good design, because we do keep getting the same bug
report... The design has however improved in 24.04 compared to 22.04 so
please make sure you're using 24.04. If that's still not enough then you
have two options:
1. Contact the Ubuntu theme designers by adding a comment in

Certainly viewing a screen in the sun will make it harder to see. But at
least when indoors it should be visible as grey on dark grey. In more
recent releases (24.04 maybe but definitely 24.10), it became a lighter
grey on dark grey so that mak
I'm surprised this is such a discussion. The colors are definitely black
on black, which is impossible to see. I encourage anyone suggesting not
to change anything to take your laptop into the garden, park, balcony or
any other sunny place; turn on high contrast and try to ALT+TAB.
