Had the same problem. Installing libxine1-ffmpeg solved the problem for
me.

as I'm using vlc as well and it now associated with .flv, I need to use
the "open with" in the right click menu to try to get it to play in
dragonplayer.

Neither dragonplayer_part.desktop nor dragonplayer.desktop does
associate with flv files. How did you manage to get it use dragonplayer
when double clicking?

I'm getting a warning "Service 'dragonplayer_part.desktop' is
malformatted" when I'm trying to lunch from dolphin (i.e double click).
when I lunch the file from within dragonplayer it's plays just fine.
