I (and Soren, and quite a few others) use compiz and virt-manager with
no issue, so we need to find out what exactly causes the problem before
it can be fixed...
This is broken in Hardy Heron which means the various pleads for it to
be fixed were completely ignored. I am having the same trouble too.
The virt-manager is completely worthless unless I disable compiz.

1) I've seen this too, and even though it didn't focus correctly, I
certainly could type in the window.
