It seems I've been using desktops rather than viewports. There appears
to be some conflict between compiz / beryl / gtk-window-decorator (I'm
quite new to all this). I've changed the number of workspaces in the GL
desktop panel back to 1, then I was able to increase the
Are you actually using "workspaces" (virtual desktops) or do you use
viewports? Using virtual desktops is not supported, you need to use
viewports. When a window is on another virtual desktop it basically
doesn't exist, ring cannot support this.
