Can you please try running mythfrontend -v playback? Also, please try a
video display profile without xvmc and/or deinterlacing to see if that
improves things.

other apps?

can find them in /var/log/mythtv/mythfrontend.log. Otherwise, please run
mythfrontend -l mylogfile.log, try to play a video and attach
mylogfile.log to this bug report.
