Ok, I hat some free time _now_, and I did it:
(btw. since yesterday, I'm running edgy, just dist-upgraded a few hours ago)
- SIGKILLed all KDE applications
- removed ~/.kde/ and .kderc
- started kontact, and configured all my accounts. The account with my PIM data
is on a cyrus IMAP server in my
I have a feeling that it is not a problem in the package, but in my
configuration (bluntly, "some stuff in my ~/.kde/ folder"). When I have
some time off this or next week, I'll dump my .kde folder and rebuild my
profile, and report back if it worked.

This bug has always been sort of off and on, but presently I can't
reproduce it in 3.5.4. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on it. Any
other confirmers/subscribers please feel free to reopen if necessary.
