It is very likely that in Ubuntu 8.10 this bug disappears, at least for
me. Caps led now follows layout strictly.

you have to modify xorg.conf by hand.
What about Ubuntu 8.10? Do you confirm the bug? AFAIK, there is no more
xorg.conf in Ubuntu, so I'm afraid to upgrade.

I confirm this bug. I use Caps Lock as keyboard indicator. It is very
comfortable to see Caps Led light when alternate group is active. But in
8.04 Caps indicator does not follow current layout.
