Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed
in the latest development version of Ubuntu - the Hardy Heron.

The version 0.5.0 had this problem. I packaged the new version (0.5.2)
and this issue must be fixed.
Can you update your system, and try again with the install?
Also I found out about libgtk2-ruby: "This is a dummy package depending
on the library for the current default version of Ruby"

Check what happens with "apt-get install libgtk2-ruby libgtk2-ruby1.8";
there is probably a missing binary, a conflict or something.
