[Bug 191649] Re: kernel panic on resume

2008-11-03 Thread Steve Alexander
I turned off visual effects, and the behaviour on suspending was exactly the same -- the machine suspends, and on resuming, the fans and hard disk start up, but the screen and keyboard do not function. So, I have no idea whether there's a kernel panic or what, because I can't see the screen. --

I tried this again on Intrepid with today's updates. The machine hibernates very successfully. The machine suspends. On resume, the machine starts up (I can hear fans and perhaps the hard disk), but the monitor stays asleep, and the USB/Bluetooth keyboard remains disconnected, like its dongle is

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. There are one of two ways you should be able to test: 1) If you are comfortable

Hi Steve, Sorry for the delayed response. Is this still an issue with the latest 2.6.24-19 kernel? If so, have you tried the latest Intrepid Alpha3 release - you should be able to test via a LiveCD. Thanks. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- kernel panic on res

Thanks for your bugreport and your very good description. Compiz may trigger this, but its certainly a bug in the kernel and/or the nvidia (kernel) driver. I reassign. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: compiz => linux -- kernel panic on resume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1916
