unfortunately I can't add information regarding the server systems' problems as
I'm not affected. In fact I only have the few information that came in the
bugzilla thread (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=213031) and the
fix patch stayed in kernel for only such a short peri

correspondent kernels with that issueing date).
There have been two server systems that showed non- or long-booting behaviour
with it.

Yeah, it's really nice that the responsible kernel & distro people
picked up the fix that soon.
According to the kernel Changelogs, it's in v5.4.132, v5.10.50, v5.12.17

Hi all the patch appears to be available!
It is at least present in 5.10.50.
For those on ubuntu 20.04. You can download the kernel here:
https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.10.50/
Make sure to disable secure boot though because the kernel is not
signed.

The patch work comes from Hui Wang, I only posted the easier-to-use .diff. And
I assume, this won't be the final version, as we do too indifferently override
the kernel default behaviour. But IMO it's a great first step in such a short

Ok, can you please run `sudo systemctl isolate multi-user` and see if
keyboard works?
Run `sudo systemctl isolate graphical` to go back to graphical session.

Same problem, my Medion Akoya S15449 keyboard doesn't work in any linux
distro i tried (Ubuntu 20.10,Pop os 20.10, Latest Arch Linux). It's not
been detected by lsusb or lspci. I think it's a driver issue.

So far, no news.
I tried everything possible avail. on the web with no success.
I tried several different Linux flavor with same results.
Ex: With Mint, the mouse was not even working, at least mouse is working with
Ubuntu 20.10.
I update 20.10 at every update hoping that
I have the same issue with a recently bought medion laptop.
Function keys like sound and backlight work.
However typing does not work.
Somebody has an update on this issue?

In my case, closing the lid switch the screen off and it comes back as soon as
I open the lid again.
I will do other checks to see if keyboard if "alive".

When you close the lid keyboard backlight goes out.
Then, as soon as you touch a key, it pops on. So the keyboard is responding...
