The upload is also working, I just uploaded a 100 KIB file to rapidshare
without any issues. For the time it seems to have been resolved the
issue.

i have a similar problem and created Bug #187666 a while ago, since then i'm
still trying to understand what's going on
all i can say now is that is is not firefox only related, because i can make
crash nearly any application.
all i need to do is to open the application e.g. firefox or thunderbir
i cannot reproduce this. We have chattet a bit on IRC and it looks like
its related to your specific system install.
Attaching strace -f firefox
or trying to upgrade to latest firefox
as well as disabling all extensions might give us a better clue on whats going
on.
