(in gutsy-updates) fix your problem? I say this because this version was
published on 2008-02-07, and probably built later, after any references
to the existence of the bug.

OK. The above fix works (don't forget to add "sudo" before each
command). But surely the purge (or a similar fix) should be in the
auto-update, otherwise it will screw a lot of people over who don't know
how to sort out such things?

Thanks that worked, and the new flash player is way better then the old.
The last version put full screen in a window, but now it is actually
full screen. Sweet :)

Flash 12.1 does not work at all on firefox for me. Have not tried it on
any other browser. Downgrading back to the old version resolves it...

It might work if you run:
dpkg -r flashplugin-nonfree
dpkg --purge flashplugin-nonfree
apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
But however:
The new version doesn't work with konqueror, which is painfull to all of the
KDE users who perfer to use konqueror instead of firefox.
