@Josh Leverette:
Pls stop re-validating papercuts!
This is not a papercut because ,the gdm is being changed in 9.10.
A paper cut is a minor usability annoyance that an average user would
encounter on his/her first day of using a new installation of Ubuntu
9.10.
For further info about papercuts
i wish i did not started this issue.
so much energy is wasted in discussing it.

What is that supposed to mean? That they are doing a complete redesign
of the dialog? Definitely a bigger undertaking than the papercut written
here.

Stop!!! REALLY!
This is not invalid.
Have you ever heard of scrollable regions?!?!?!?!? Just make the control
blocks within the tabs into scrollable regions, then if the height is
too low for it to be able to fit them all there, it makes it scrollable.
This lets the users be able to see the bottom

redesigning dialogs to have a different geometry requires real changes
and maybe a new design it's not a quick change and not really an
hundredpapercut issue, the dialog is also not used in the new gdm which
will land soon in karmic

I think this would be a great papercut to fix. 800x600 feels like the
right resolution to target.

I just ran into this running UNR Jaunty on a netbook with a 1024x576
screen which seems to be the resolution most of the smaller netbooks are
shipping with now. I think if we chose this resolution as our smallest
target, we'd be in good shape.

Still an issue with the current version of Jaunty, (9.04, beta release)
on a netbook (1024x768) with the jaunty netbook remix.
This version also released with window clamping enabled, so I can not
move the window "above" the top of the screen, it is thus impossible to
correctly click the buttons
problem confirmed on jaunty.
My screen is 1024x600.
gdm 2.20.9-0ubuntu1
The only way to reach buttons is to drag the window with "Alt+Left
button".

i think... 800x600 - both, upper and bottom panels ?
(since, it will not overlap them)
we (in the educational system) have many system with old 800x600
desktops
btw, is it possible to zoom in and out a window ?
or a window's content ?
that could be great :-)
