Hi, so I had this same exact issue. using 5.4 allowed me to get into
Ubuntu, but now my Wifi driver is broken. Do you guys happen to known if
the Netgear A6210 has a driver that will work with this Kernel?

Hey, I was able to find that the bug was fixed in v5.4-rc1. I haven't been able
to find the commit that fixes the issue though. Trying to run:
$ make -j`nproc` deb-pkg
Gives me the error: make: *** No rule to make target 'nproc'. Stop.

Would it be possible for you to do a reverse kernel bisection?
First, find the first -rc kernel works and the last -rc kernel doesn’t
work from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/
Then,
$ sudo apt build-dep linux
$ git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.

black screen. The default kernel after the update (5.3.0-23-generic)
does not succeed in booting. If I select the older kernel,
5.0.0-36-generic, grub does go through and succeeds booting up.
