I'm not unchecking any option, there is a default selected option for
the password field which is "remember this password for this user only".
And with this option, NetworkManager doesn't remember the password.
With "remember the password for all users" option, NetworkManager works
The description didn't mention that you are unchecking the 'for all
users' option (which is default?), so it's only an issue in that case?

users, then it works, the password is stored by NetworkManager.
