I've got exactly the same problem with OpenSuSE 10.3 with KDE, so it is
not Ubintu-specific and even not GNOME-specific.

I can confirm the bug.
It's related to nvidia drivers. No probs with 104.23. Problems started since
169.04 was released.
Obviously, latest nvidia drivers release (169.09) didn't fix the bug.

I copied these reports exactly after the crash. It was not hard to
reproduce the bug, i was just sending myself messages from another ICQ
client and account, and closing the message window each time i pressed
the "view" button on the notification of incoming message. On the 5th or
6th try GNOME cra
