Both .24 and .26 used to run just fine on VirtualPC, with noreplace-paravirt
and blacklisting s3fb.
.27 now dies after "HugeTLB registered 4 MB page size, pre-allocated 0 pages"
with the unrecoverable processor error message, I can take a screenshot if

I followed Simone Crescenzo's steps and still receive the same "An
unrecoverable processor error has been encountered The virutal machine
will reset now.", just much earlier in the process. In fact start up
looks like this:

I am running Vista Enterprise and wanted to install Hardy Heron 8.04 LTS
in Virtual PC 2007. The problem persists with this version whether you
try to boot from Live CD or an upgrade from Gutsy Gibbon. I haven't
tried adding vga=771 to the boot parameter. I'll try that on Monday.

Ok, scratch that.
By changing the boot parameters by adding vga=771 before the double
dash, I was able to get into the alternate installer.
