I've tried teh solution abovem creating the /var/lock/subsys subdir
manually, however, I didn't persist across a reboot.
I have now simply changed
SUBSYSLOCK=/var/lock/subsys/shorewall
to
SUBSYSLOCK=/var/lock/shorewall
in /etc/shorewall/shorewall.conf. This should persist, please let me
Experienced the Problem in Hardy too, adding the corresponding error
