has more features, less bugs and works faster.

I simply would like to inform those interested in this topic, that -
while we all wait for the packaging of the latest beta - the procedure
to create binaries from the source is *really* easy. More or less it
works like this:
1) Download the source and uncompress the file
2) Install ant [sudo apt-
When using the .dep file from the Freemind Site, I get a version 0.8.1.
This is a stable version of the package, and I get no bugs. I may see
what I can do to get us up to that point at least. The beta might not
be best, but .8 might.

We have been using Freemind for years, mostly upgrading to latest beta
as they make it available. While the packages are tagged beta, they're
quite stable, and complete ( the 0.9.x beta's are really good )

"Hi, I am the package owner for FreeMind and Debian (FreeMind is not yet in
Ubuntu), and I need to recommend checking the official FreeMind on Linux page,

Could you file a wishlist in Debian? The maintainer said some months ago he
would package 0.9.0 "soon", so maybe it's time for him to package it ;)
Also, it has an RC bug for a few months now, and it was removed from testing
because of it.

I have tested the packages in
http://eric.lavar.de/comp/linux/debian/experimental/ and have
experienced no bugs or errors.
I do not have the skills to build the package myself (in chroot),
especially as it can run via a .sh script.
Why is it beta? It's been beta for over a year now, I think that'
Have you tested the package? Does it build properly in a clean chroot?
Does it install fine?
And why is this a beta, and do you consider it appropriate for an LTS
release?

Shouldn't this have an "upgrade" tag instead of "needs-packaging"?
Also, please only subscribe sponsors when there is something to sponsor.
If you are unsure whether or not we should sync these packages, leave it
open to discussion, don't subscribe sponsors.
