The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.

i am experiencing the exact same bug and warning mesages as per that
screenshot taken by jerrylamos. i cant shutdown or restart, i have to
power it down and back up again manually.

I'm getting the same thing. My system hung at the end of installation
with Hardy beta right after the CD was ejected and it displayed the "Hit
Enter to continue" message. Hitting enter did nothing.
Now, it hangs on reboot or shutdown every time. It hangs after the

Hi, I haven't tried this on Hardy, but since this is the root for this
bug report, I'll post my findings here. I have tested all suggestions
posted here as well as under #119308 and none of them worked for me.
The PC config:
Dell Optiplex 745
Dual Core Intel 2.13 GHz
2GB RAM
Wired network
no X-win
I have the same problem, not only with the LiveCD, but also with my
*hard disk installation* of alpha 5 of Hardy Heron (installed and
updated today).
My notebook doesn't poweroff, the hard disk keeps spinning.
