The issue hasn't occurred in a long time with later GIMP 2 versions.
Besides, GIMP 2 and David's Batch Processor (and the entire gimp-plugin-
registry package) are obsolete on Ubuntu 25.04 (Plucky), which comes
with GIMP 3.
For GIMP 3, there is the new Batcher plug-in offering the same
functional
