Thanks for the update and the confirmation. Seems to be related to Bug
1858670 which although filed under 'xfburn' package, seems to have the
same symptoms and possibly the same cause.

Lubuntu 18.04.4 QA-test install on hp dx6120mt (box mentioned in last

I didn't realize there was anything in cd/dvd tray except post-boot
after install I noted 2x "Blank CD-R Disc" icons on desktop on first
login. I expected tray to be empty but it did contain a blank CD-R
