Black Screen After A Few Minutes

I created an account to chime in here and say I'm having basically the
exact same issue. I can't boot into the live USB without setting a
nomodeset flag. I can then install, but I can't boot into the actual OS
without setting nomodeset. I've tried several workarounds, but nothing
has been successfu
I found this ArchWiki page which has a section about my GPU:

After setting "radeon.cik_support=0 amdgpu.cik_support=1 amdgpu.dpm=1
amdgpu.dc=1" as kernel parameters, I did not get a black screen (yet).
A couple lines in kern.log stood out to me:

I just did a reinstall using nomodeset. Afterwards I gathered some log
files out of /var/log/ in the hopes that they may be of some help.
After the installation I booted up and logged into my fresh installation
without nomodeset, which soon after resulted in a black screen. So I had
to hold down t

Thank you for looking into this.
The issue still exists when using mainline kernel v4.19-rc5 or
v4.3.6-wily.
I did not upgrade my Ubuntu installation. However the black screen
occurs using the Ubuntu 18.04.1 live image, too. But the black screen
did not occur using the latest Ubuntu 16.04 live im

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.19 kernel[

I first encountered the issue on Kubuntu 18.04 when I removed my 2nd monitor,
the screen went black after 5-30 seconds. I tried:
