Hello!
I've tried 2.6.27-1 Ubuntu Kernel from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/pub/next/2.6.27-rc3/hardy/ and I haven't seen lockups,
I've kept the pc on for 2 days with various applications running and it works
perfectly.
I think this kernel resolves the bug.

upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
