Thanks. It sounds like the problems are specific to Chrome and VLC.
For local video file playback we recommend only using 'mpv' or 'totem'
because those are the only players we have verified efficient hardware-
accelerated video playback for. However you will need to enable it first

with video there, in Ubuntu I have a skipping frame problem, like 2 or 3
seconds of skipping frames in chrome and also in VLC.

Can you please elaborate as to what you mean by "lagging"? Do you mean
everything is smooth but delayed? Or do you mean it is stuttering
(skipping frames)?
