A better solution would be to install the 'lubuntu-core' package which
is a meta-package and try the release upgrade again. From Mainlog.txt we
can see:

The package 'update-manager' is marked for removal but it's in the
removal blacklist
So remove it manually, then dist-upgrade should be happier. A proposed
fix is on the way to get published soon.
