Martin, I found this issue affects Nsight as well.
I've uploaded a fix which should be available soon.
Once it is, please do:
sudo update-alternatives --config java
and select option 0
As for the nvprof issue, please open a new bug and include steps to
reproduce.

BTW, if i might make another comment rather than file a new bug report:
nvprof requires root privs. Even suid/guid root is not enough.
