Can confirm this issue and that `sudo snap refresh core --beta` fixed it

"sudo snap refresh core --beta" as suggested by Davefury seems to also fix the

Removing VLC and re-installing it seems to resolve the problem
I guess the last update have something to do with the snap/vlc bug
